In a networked world, lots of people are looking for ways to exert more influence. Viral marketers, lobbyists and others are competing to identify and pull the supposed “levers of power”.  But are we inadvertently bringing some very old world assumptions to a system that works in complex and unexpected ways.

In this morning workshop, we’ll explore a different view of how networks operate and how influence really works.

We think this will be of interest to anyone involved in marketing, public policy making or collaborative innovation.

The session will be led by Mark Earls, author of “Herd: The Hidden Truth About Who We Are”, and by James Cherkoff and Johnnie Moore, authors of Co-Creation Rules.  All three have been well-received speakers at previous NESTA events and are collaborating to make this one thought provoking, practical and very interactive.

Agenda:

8:30 to 9:30 Informal breakfast and mixing

9:30-11:00 Wow does influence really work – a mixture of provocative examples and interactive games to explore what really goes on when people interact

11:00 to 12:15 Open Discussion - Plenty of opportunity to take the discussion further in smaller groups.

12.15 Buffet Lunch to close the session
